Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Try Solitaire, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms apply to all game variants, features, and optional services provided on this website, including user accounts, leaderboards, and cloud sync features. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the games.

Use of the Games

Try Solitaire provides classic solitaire game variants and puzzle games free of charge for personal entertainment purposes. The games include features such as:

• Multiple card style options (Spanish-style, Poker-plain, Poker-single)
• Game statistics tracking (stored locally or synced to cloud with an account)
• Restart functionality to replay the same deal
• Undo and hint systems where applicable
• Game-specific options (draw modes, suit counts, difficulty levels)
• Optional user accounts with cloud sync
• Leaderboards and achievements (requires account)
• Cross-device synchronization (requires account)

You agree to:

• Use the games only for lawful purposes
• Not attempt to modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or exploit the game code
• Not use automated tools or bots to play the games
• Not interfere with the proper functioning of the games or servers
• Not use the games for any commercial purposes without permission
• Not remove any copyright or proprietary notices
• Not submit fraudulent scores or achievements to leaderboards
• Not create multiple accounts to manipulate leaderboards or circumvent restrictions
• Not impersonate other users or use offensive usernames

User Accounts

Try Solitaire offers optional user accounts that enable additional features:

Account Creation

• Username: Required. Must be unique, between 3-20 characters, alphanumeric with underscores allowed. Your username may be displayed publicly on leaderboards.
• PIN: Required. A numeric PIN (minimum 4 digits) used to secure your account. Choose a PIN you can remember as it cannot be easily recovered without email verification.
• Email: Optional. Providing an email enables account recovery and important notifications.
• Country: Optional. Used for regional leaderboards and displayed as a flag on public leaderboards.

Account Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your PIN
• You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials
• Accounts inactive for extended periods may be subject to deletion

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in cheating, submit fraudulent scores, or use inappropriate usernames. You may also request deletion of your account at any time.

Leaderboards and Public Information

If you create an account and participate in leaderboards:

• Your username will be publicly visible on leaderboards
• Your game scores, times, and performance data will be publicly visible
• Your country flag (if provided) will be displayed next to your username
• Your achievements and level may be visible to other users

By participating in leaderboards, you consent to this public display of your gaming information.

Fair Play Policy

We expect all users to play fairly. The following are prohibited:

• Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to play games or submit scores
• Exploiting bugs or glitches to gain unfair advantages
• Submitting falsified or manipulated scores
• Colluding with other users to manipulate leaderboards
• Using multiple accounts to circumvent bans or boost rankings

We employ anti-cheat measures to detect suspicious activity. Violations may result in score removal, leaderboard bans, or account termination.

Data Storage

Local Storage (No Account)

Without an account, the games use your browser's localStorage to save:

• Game statistics (games played, wins, best times, win streaks)
• User preferences (card style selection, game options)
• Current game state for in-progress games
• Initial deals for restart functionality

This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to any server.

Cloud Storage (With Account)

With an account, the following data is stored on our servers:

• Account information (username, hashed PIN, optional email)
• Game statistics synchronized across devices
• Leaderboard entries and rankings
• Achievement progress and unlocks
• Level progression and XP
• User preferences
• Game event history for statistics and anti-cheat purposes

Intellectual Property

The game code, design, and implementation are owned by Try Solitaire. Playing card graphics are used under their respective open-source licenses:

• Spanish-style cards: LGPL 3.0 (Chris Aguilar) and CC BY-SA 3.0 (Germarquezm)
• Card backs: CC0 Public Domain (Nicu Buculei)
• Poker-style cards: Custom designs created for Try Solitaire

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit permission, except as permitted under the respective open-source licenses for the card graphics. See our Credits page for complete attribution and licensing information.

Game Availability

We strive to keep the games and services available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The games and associated services may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Maintenance and updates
• Technical issues or server outages
• Circumstances beyond our control

Game features, rules, and options may change as we continue to improve the user experience. Leaderboards may be reset periodically or when significant changes are made.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The games and services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that:

• The games or services will be error-free or uninterrupted
• Defects will be corrected
• The games are free from viruses or other harmful components
• The games will meet your requirements
• Locally stored statistics will be preserved during browser updates or clearing of data
• Cloud-synced data will never be lost or corrupted
• Leaderboard rankings will always be accurate or fair

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use or inability to use the games or services, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, loss of game progress, or business interruption.

Changes to the Games and Services

We reserve the right to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any game variant, feature, or service at any time without notice. This includes but is not limited to:

• Adding or removing game variants
• Modifying game rules or implementations
• Changing card designs or styling options
• Updating or removing features
• Resetting or modifying leaderboards
• Changing account requirements or features

We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the games, services, or any feature.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time without prior notice. Continued use of the games and services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically for any updates.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the games shall be resolved in the appropriate courts.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
