TrySolitaire June 2026: What 75,877 Games Tell Us
TrySolitaire Monthly: What 75,877 Games in June 2026 Tell Us
Published: July 2026 Data period: June 1–30, 2026 Sample: 75,877 games started, across 23 game variants Previous report: May 2026 →
Two months ago, Klondike was 81% of everything played on this site. In June it was 50%.
That’s the story. The site kept growing — 75,877 games, up 22% from May — but the growth is coming from everywhere except the game we’re named after. FreeCell passed Spider and is now the second most-played game. TriPeaks, Pyramid, Golf, and 2048 all grew faster than the site did.
Here’s what 75,877 games told us.
The Big Number
75,877 games started. 24,973 won. 32.9% overall win rate.
Volume grew 22% over May’s 62,398. The pattern of the last five months: +98%, +101%, +41%, +22%. Growth is slowing down each month. It’s still growth, and each month is bigger than the last, but the doubling days are behind us and the curve is flattening. We’d rather show that plainly than pick a number that flatters us.
The win rate held at 32.9%, close to May’s 32.6%. Two months of clean data now, both saying the same thing.
Game Popularity
| Game | June Starts | May Starts | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Klondike | 37,846 | 38,012 | -0.4% |
| FreeCell | 10,827 | 6,242 | +73% |
| Spider | 10,159 | 8,586 | +18% |
| Mahjong | 9,081 | 4,029 | +125% |
| TriPeaks | 1,781 | 1,014 | +76% |
| Pyramid | 1,493 | 654 | +128% |
| Sudoku | 1,305 | 1,251 | +4% |
| Golf | 1,228 | 813 | +51% |
| 2048 | 773 | 436 | +77% |
Klondike stopped growing. Not slowed — stopped. 38,012 games in May, 37,846 in June. Its share of the site: 81% in April, 61% in May, 50% in June. Half the site is now something other than Klondike. In April, that would have sounded impossible.
Klondike isn’t shrinking. It’s holding steady at roughly 1,200 games a day while everything around it climbs. That’s a different kind of site than we had in the spring.
FreeCell is now the second most-played game. 10,827 games, up 73% after May’s 10x jump. Two things are still driving it: better search ranking, and a wave of players from China. Neither is a tracking quirk. FreeCell has gone from 616 games in April to 10,827 in June — about 18x in two months.
Pyramid grew 128% and TriPeaks 76%. Both of these fell in earlier months and looked like they were fading. They’re not. Golf grew 51% and 2048 grew 77%. The short games are finding players.
Mahjong’s 125% needs a caveat, and it’s a data one rather than a game one. See the note at the bottom of this report — some Mahjong volume this month isn’t ours.
Win Rates
Win rate is wins divided by total starts. Abandoned games count as non-wins. Same method we’ve used since February.
Last month we dropped the month-over-month column because our abandon tracking was fixed on April 14, which made earlier months incomparable. May and June are both clean. So the comparison is back, and this is the first honest month-over-month win rate table we’ve published since the fix.
| Game | June Win Rate | May Win Rate | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| FreeCell | 55.0% | 62.4% | -7.4pp |
| Mahjong (Turtle) | 52.7% | 49.3% | +3.4pp |
| Spider (all variants) | 47.0% | 42.1% | +4.9pp |
| TriPeaks | 40.3% | 30.8% | +9.5pp |
| Sudoku | 30.6% | 36.6% | -6.0pp |
| Pyramid | 30.1% | 26.6% | +3.5pp |
| Klondike Draw 1 | 27.6% | 28.1% | -0.5pp |
| Golf | 12.3% | 11.7% | +0.6pp |
| Klondike Draw 3 | 10.9% | 12.0% | -1.1pp |
Klondike barely moved. Draw 1 went 28.1% to 27.6%. Draw 3 went 12.0% to 10.9%. Across 37,846 games and two clean months, Klondike wins about 28% of the time on Draw 1 and about 11% on Draw 3. Those are the real numbers for this game on this site.
FreeCell dropped 7 points, and that’s what growth looks like. 62.4% down to 55.0% — while volume grew 73%. When a game nearly doubles its players in a month, the new arrivals haven’t played it before. They lose more. The win rate falls even though nothing about the game changed. FreeCell is still the highest win rate on the site by a clear margin. It’s just being played by a lot more beginners than it was in May.
Spider climbed to 47.0%, its best month. 1-suit wins 57.5%. The two harder settings moved around on smaller samples, so we’d wait another month before reading anything into those.
Mahjong Turtle wins 52.7%, and the same caveat as last month applies. Mahjong lets players reshuffle the board up to 5 times by default. A board headed for a loss can be reshuffled into a win. Klondike has no such option — a bad deal is just lost. So Mahjong’s rate sits higher partly because of the shuffle, and it isn’t directly comparable to the card games. Players who want a truer test can turn shuffles off in settings. We report Turtle on its own because it’s the default layout and the only one with a clean, stable sample.
Where the Games Actually Go: Abandonment
June’s three-way split:
Won: 32.9%. Lost: 7.2%. Abandoned: 60.0%.
May was 32.6% won, 4.6% lost, 62.8% abandoned. The loss rate went up by more than half. Nobody got worse at these games. The mix changed.
Recorded losses come almost entirely from games that end themselves — TriPeaks, Golf, Pyramid, and 2048 run out of moves and declare the round over. Those four grew 51% to 128% this month. More of them in the mix means more non-wins get filed as losses instead of abandons.
The open-ended games still barely record a loss at all. In June, across 37,846 games, Klondike recorded three. FreeCell recorded zero. Spider recorded one. Sudoku zero. When you get stuck in Klondike, the board just sits there. Nobody tells you that you lost. You leave, and that’s an abandon.
So the loss rate and the abandon rate both moved because the games moved, not because the players did. The number that stays fair across all of them is the win rate.
Where abandonment tells us something real is within the open-ended games, where walking away is the only way to not win:
| Game | June Abandon | May Abandon |
|---|---|---|
| FreeCell | 45.0% | 37.6% |
| Spider | 53.0% | 57.9% |
| Sudoku | 69.4% | 63.4% |
| Klondike | 76.2% | 75.7% |
Klondike didn’t budge: 75.7% to 76.2%. Three out of four Klondike games get walked away from, two months running. Klondike is half the site, so it sets the site-wide abandon rate almost by itself.
FreeCell got less sticky — 37.6% to 45.0% abandoned. That’s the same story as its win rate. More new players, and new players quit more. It’s still the stickiest mainstream game on the site.
The extreme case is Russian Solitaire: 198 games, 5 wins, 97.5% abandoned. Almost nobody who starts Russian finishes it. It’s a genuinely punishing game and the numbers say so.
Spotlight: The Month Got Faster As It Went
June averaged about 2,250 games a day for the first three weeks. By the last week of the month it was closer to 2,800 a day — roughly 25% growth inside a single month.
We saw this in April too, and it means the same thing now as it did then: people are coming back. A site that grows within a month is being carried by players who return, not just by new arrivals who play once. June’s headline growth was the slowest in five months. The within-month pattern says the players who show up are staying.
Sections We’re Holding This Month
Speed & Efficiency, Winners vs. Non-winners, and Mobile vs. Desktop are still out.
Those sections need move counts, timing, undo use, and device data. That comes from a different table than the totals above, and that table still mixes our games with our sister sites. We can’t separate them yet. Rather than publish numbers we can’t stand behind, we’re holding those sections again. Everything in this report reconciles.
We started tagging data by site on June 23. July will be the first month with that tagging running from day one, which should bring these sections back.
What’s Next
July’s report will be the first built on fully separated data. Expect the Mahjong and Sudoku numbers to shift a little when that happens — not because the games changed, but because we’ll finally be counting only our own.
The most-played game in June was Klondike, holding exactly half the table. Play it here →

All data is anonymous. TrySolitaire does not track individual users. Win rates are calculated as wins divided by total starts (treating abandons as non-wins). Games with fewer than 50 starts in June are excluded.
TrySolitaire shares a backend with our sister sites. We began tagging data by site on June 23, 2026, part way through the month. This report counts all rows for June, which includes roughly 1.3% of starts from sister-site traffic — Mahjong and Sudoku only, no card games. Mahjong volume and Sudoku volume are therefore slightly overstated this month, and Mahjong layouts other than Turtle are excluded from the win rate table for the same reason. Klondike, FreeCell, Spider, TriPeaks, Golf, Pyramid, and 2048 are unaffected. Per-site separation begins with the July report.
Mahjong allows up to 5 reshuffles by default, which raises its win rate relative to games without that option. TriPeaks, Golf, and Pyramid each include a smaller “standard” sub-variant we are still characterizing; their rates here are the game-level blend across all starts. Data covers June 1–30, 2026.
